Perks

First and foremost, our new choir members are immediately embedded in a welcoming, sociable group of friends working together to produce high-quality music. We take care to make sure that every member feels welcome and included, and our regular social events - ranging from karaoke evenings to ice skating - provide something for everybody.

Aside from the opportunity to perform in one of Cambridge's leading mixed-voice choirs, other benefits include:
  • Free Formal Hall after evensongs during term
  • £100 per annum for Choral Scholars
  • Regular free singing lessons with our fantastic teachers, Nicola-Jane Kemp and Sam Evans. Arrangements can also be made to fund lessons        with external teachers.
  • Regular organised and subsidised social events (dinners, drinks etc.)
  • Commercial recordings
  • Regular solo opportunities in services and concerts
  • Annual subsidised tours abroad (recent destinations include the USA, Greece and Hong Kong)

Further discretionary funding for various musical pursuits is also provided by The John Clough Memorial Fund, kindly given in memory of John Clough (Organ Scholar 1970-73) for the purpose of promoting musical life in the College, specifically that of the College Choir. The fund currently provides up to £200 for the Senior Tutor and Dean of Chapel to allocate each year. Please contact the Tutorial Office for more information regarding this.
