Supporting through the Friends of Queens' Music
Since the Foundation of Queens’ College in 1448, music has been integral to the life of the College. Old Hall includes a Minstrel Gallery, the original College Chapel—now the War Memorial Library—featured an Organ, and as the fabric of Queens’ grew and developed, so did the College’s commitment to providing a rich cultural environment for all.
This history cannot be told without also celebrating the legacy of philanthropy. From Richard III’s greatest benefaction to modern day refurbishments of the Chapel Organ and Musical Scholarships, philanthropy has been central to the success and development of the College for over 500 years. |
The Friends of Queens’ Music seeks to continue this great tradition as creative and artistic pursuits face increasingly challenging funding scenarios, and so our members are helping to safeguard treasured institutions like Queens’ Chapel Choir for future generations of students, while also helping to establish new groups and traditions.
An annual membership to the FOQM provides vital and sustainable funding for musical activities at Queens', from music lessons for individual students, to record production for the College choirs and orchestras. There are a number of benefits offered to members and supporters of the Friends of Queens' Music. These include an invitation to the annual Garden Party, reserved seating at Choir concerts and carol services and personal acknowledgement in the Gift List. |
